Best Medical Schools in US : 2022 ranking of Research and Primary Care Medical Schools. U.S. News surveyed 191 allopathic and osteopathic medical schools that were accredited in 2020 by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), or the American Osteopathic Association.
They added this data to the results of peer assessment surveys to determine both overall rankings and medical field specialty rankings. Of the 191 schools receiving surveys, 129 responded. Of these 129 allopathic and osteopathic medical schools, 123 were ranked in both research and primary rankings.
The remaining six schools were unranked due to having only provisional, preliminary, or pre-accreditation. Schools needed full accreditation to be included in the rankings.
